Crusty Crack

Description

This is a fun layback, and you can also jam your feet. Try handjamming, but you’ll likely find it’s too painful due to the pebbly nature of the rock. The crux is up top, especially if you decide to top out.

Location

It is located at the dihedral near large boulder. This ascends the large, obvious crack with a nice, flat base.

Protection

A bouldering pad.

Also, this is fun to place gear on if you want, it protects well the whole way up but gets progressively wider. The bottom is around a #0.75 or #1. At the top, you get either a tipped out #4 that you need to look around for a good enough placement or a #5 (which would be preferred). A TR anchor can be made using crack to the left up top if you extend it over to this route, placing a large cam to redirect and hold masterpoint in place is a good idea to prevent masterpoint from sliding out of crack.
