Crack 'N Up

This route located left of the DZ Arete in the race crack area of the main wall. As you approach the main wall turn left, walk up the gully for approximately 150 feet. You will pass a large arete (DZ Arete 5.11) with a gully/chimney running behind it. This chimney is crack and up. The route starts up a gully followed by easy off width and chimney moves until in the upper and larger chimney section. Pro the lower section with .5 to 4 inch gear. Time to get crackin! The upper wide section is not a gimme for the climber not accustomed to wider cracks. Throw yourself in and make the slow painful journey upwards. Five bolts protect the upper chimney and ends at a three bolt anchor next to a large tree. Use two ropes to rappel this route.
