Coyote Crack

Description

Kitty litter, wet in places, rotten, breaking holds, exfoliating, dirty, bushy, run-out; everything you look for in a BOMB!

Pitch 1: long and tortuous with very thinky sequences and unrewarding climbing overall. Dance between the crack and the face with creative movement, gardening, and pure will until you reach a two bolt anchor.

Pitch 2: A slabby runout to a pin, then up a bushy crack with what looks like (we bailed after pitch one) only about 25-30 feet tops of worthy crack to gain the shoulder of the buttress. From there head up and right, ascend the summit feature to the top of the route.

Descent: Walk off to the right

Location

This route heads up the first big corner system on the left side of the wall.

Protection

Bring a full selection of cams up to #4, which saved me in the final chimney grunt near the top of Pitch 1.

Some fixed pins guide you along on Pitch 2
