Gneiss Boys

Description

A wonderful line on beautiful greenish orange rock, Gneiss Boys is quintessential Mount Lemmon climbing. Offering a view, shady conditions, an almost nonexistent approach, and a classic neighbor in Knights of the Wrong Tissue, Gneiss Boys should be on every 12- climbers 'To Do' list.

Both Gneiss Boys and Knights of the Wrong Tissue are very approachable at the given grade. The challenging sequences are broken by ample rests and large features.

Location

Gneiss Boys is the rightmost of three sport routes starting from a rock platform. It is immediately to the right of Knights of the Wrong Tissue, with which it shares a hold or two before trending right.

Protection

7 bolts to chain anchors.

A stick clip might aid shorter climbers in clipping the first bolt. There is some distance from the 6th to 7th bolt but the terrain is significantly easier in this section.
