Description

This route features enjoyable movement and deserves more traffic.  Looks harder and dirtier than it climbs, and therefore seems to have an adventurous feel.

Climb up a series of laybacks, snag a rest, then tackle the thought-provoking bulge and mantle up to the chains.  Feet when you need 'em, good clipping positions, clean falls, and all-day shade make this route worth the walk.

Location

Starts with obvious jugs in a diagonal crack above a dead log.

You can easily see the shady wall to the south from any of the climbs on the main wall.  After hiking down the approach gully, turn right (instead of left) and hug the cliff band for ~50' before heading downhill.  Continue toward the wall down/cross-slope through some small pine saplings and big dead pines, then beeline for the wall.  Probably the easiest way, plus we didn't get blown up by any unexploded ordnance.

Protection

5 shiny bolts to the chains.
