High Country Lover

Located at 7800' in a steep alcove, far away from the hustle and bustle.  If you're in the market for a nice hard route, High Country Lover is worth visiting.

Bring a lot of quick-draws, possibly some hand-jammys, and ensure your energy systems are firing.

The route opens with a few bolts of climbing up to a ledge ( to the right).  Soak up the views and get ready to launch.

Boulder your way leftwards to the lower crack pod before getting into the upper fracture and a flat hold.

Climb slightly left and up  the steep headwall and upper arete to the slab and anchor.

Due to the traversing character of the route it's best to clean the gear  by down-jumping.

Park below the gate at the end of Pine Creek Road. Locate a small dirt road below the gate and follow it along the power lines, across a swamp, and up onto the flat tailings piles across to the delta wall. Walk past the boulder and slightly down along a dirt road which crosses underneath the talus gullies. When you arrive below a large triangular buttress with obvious cracks, walk up to and around the right side and into the Mungie Gully. High Country Lover is located behind the Triangular Buttress in a steep alcove.
