Changing of the Guard

Changing of the Guard is an intimidating direct hand/finger crack on the back side of the Sentry. All day shade makes this a nice option to get out of the sun and pull on some steep rock. The protection is bomber and the climbing powerful, well worth the hike for a challenge in the shade.

Same start as The Night Shift, but instead of traversing right around the arete, continue direct up the crack through hands, fingers, and jugs to the summit.

1 bolt, single set of stoppers, and single set of cams to #3 C4. Double shoulder length runner if you plan on top roping as the route anchor is the summit anchor and needs to be extended to prevent a stuck rope.
