Rickety Pinnacle

Description

This is the small pinnacle at the top of the wall above the Lost Arrow. It is worth doing once due to the rarity of formations like this in the area and the spectacular positioning above Chapel Pond Pass.

Once at the base, step up ledges until you can grab the top. Mantle up and enjoy the view.

Location

To reach the base of the pinnacle, either climb the 3rd class gully to the right, or climb the route Rope Toss Wall. Other easy technical climbs exist that can also deposit you near the base of the pinnacle.

To descend, downclimb the pinnacle back to the notch. From there, either downclimb the 3rd class gully to climber's right, or rappel off a tree with a fixes anchor.

Protection

When I climbed it, I didn't see the need to place any pro on the pinnacle. There are really only one or two 5th class moves anyway. If you're really worried about it, there is a horizontal about 2 feet below the top that looks like it would take some gear. There are no anchors on top.
