First Notch + Middle Face

Description

Some interesting moves near the bottom, then too much hiking on grass, a little more on rock by the top.

Start on left-trending 3-ft-wide ramp / right-facing corner about 10-12 ft high which goes up to a 1-ft-thick tree - (which is the first "notch" above left from the "big slanting roof" with left-trending ramp underneath). Go up that left-trending right-facing corner. Variation 2: Up the arete which forms the left edge of the "first notch" corner. Variation 3: Up the corner of the (less wide) "second" notch. Variation 4: Up the arete which forms the left edge of the "second notch" corner.

Next hike up grass + dirt, trending left. Then up the shallow gully on the right side of the upper middle face. Finish with a few moves up diagonal left on the rock of the right wall of that upper gully.

warning: The rock on and near this route has not been climbed much yet, and some of the rock is still breakable and loose -- so the belayer and other people should stand far away from underneath the climber or someone setting up top anchor.

. . . (Lots of vegetation on this rock as of 2018. Be prepared when climbing to navigate around protruding trees and branches, and dealing with holds slippery with grass, lichen, moss, dirt).
