Description
Start on the left side of belay ledge up through a tree and into a right facing wide crack. Thrutch up a couple body lengths until it is possible to clip a bolt on the slab above. Wander up slab with occasionally fun moves, clipping a couple of bolts along the way, and into low-angle flared cracks. As the crack pinches down to a seam a couple of funky pitons appear. A bolt protects the final slab crux. Belay from a sturdy tree above the route. Walk off or rap with 2 ropes. Plenty of exfoliating rock but it's solid when you need it.
Location
Way up on the slabby west face of Memorial Day Buttress. Scramble and thrash along the base until an obvious chockstone cave blocks the way. There is an exit hole on the right side of the cave that puts you right at the belay. Route starts in the wide crack above.
Protection
Standard rack, optional #5 for the wide. Lots of runners.
