Description

Start to the right of the obvious line, and climb 30 feet of

Flight Attendant

before traversing back left to the plumb line. Avoid chossy sections by climbing cracks on the right, but expect runout 5.10- terrain in places.

Rap the route.

Location

This is the obvious center line on the Flight Wall - the clean, east-facing swath of granite on the southern shoulder of Pilot Mountain. Approach as for Boulder Grand Pass - just below Lake of Many Winds, hike north a short distance to the base of the wall.

Protection

The newest RMNP guide suggests taking a #5 Camalot. This is not needed and would not fit - a #1 Big bro works perfectly in the one spot a wide piece is needed and is much lighter for the long approach. A #4.5 Camalot might work. For the lightest rack, a standard RMNP alpine rack to 3" plus the #1 Big bro is adequate.
