Description
Pitch 1, 5.7.
This is the crux of the route. Locate a moderate crack with some thorny bushes at the base. Climb the crack as it widens to a slippery off-width (a #4 protects this well) to a ledge with a very large dead tree. Belay from the tree,
70 feet.
Coil the rope, and continue scrambling up the least resistance for a few hundred feet (Class 2-4).
Pitch 2, 5.4.
Locate and climb an angling crack with some bushes up a ramp leading to a small ledge just below the summit. From the ledge, traverse right to the summit (class 3),
90 feet.
Descent
Rappel from a boulder near the summit to the base of pitch 2. Scramble down to the top of pitch 1, and then rappel from the large dead tree to the ground. A single 60m rope will suffice.
Location
It is on the Northeast side of the formation.
Protection
A single rack BD C4 #0.75-4.
