MapDescription
The Potato Eaters is perhaps Van Gogh’s most famous painting. It features a poor Dutch family eating in a rather dark room. The artist hoped this work would boost his reputation but, alas, it failed to attract much notice during his lifetime. And yet, two versions of this painting were stolen from museums. Fortunately, both were recovered.
