Peak Mountain 3

Betula alleghaniensis

FA G. Turner, C. Orton, D. Quigley 9/2021
CREATED
UPDATED

Description

Start on the right leaning vegetated crack. Traverse across the face, past Home Again (5.8+), original FA does not use these bolts, but places pro in crack. Circumnavigate the birch into a large flake/ramp to the upper wall of Shady Grove (5.8+). Use this bolt line to 2 bolt anchor. Ending is pumpy. Protection is PG13 with a finesse between extending draws to cut drag and taking large swinging ground falls. Do not clear any vegetation, no vegetation was removed from crack on FA, keep it that way. Caution, there is a hemlock tree that can impale you below the birch tree, dont fall here.

Location

There was a day when mountain project descriptions were pretty much like interpretive dance. For today, go to the Bog Wall.

Protection

SIngle rack with micros. PG13. 3 bolts. 2 bolt anchor.
