Beginner Slab

Description

Climb the low angle slab that is broken by a ledge in the middle. A few steep sections are encountered along the route, otherwise it's the ultimate beginner/kids/family route.

It is topropeable by carefully scrambling up and right from the slab with an exposed traverse on the ledge system at the top. Great care should be taken when accessing the top anchors. Two sets of bolts exist at the top with chains on one set for lowering/rappelling off.

Location

This is the obvious, low angle slab that meets the road on the right side of the Beginner Slab area.

Protection

It is most often done as a toprope. Gear options are limited on this. To set up a toprope, scramble/bushwhack up and right from the base and then gain a narrow ledge system that you can traverse back to the left on. There is one very exposed step around a block that you must do to gain the anchors. This approach may not be for the faint of heart so be careful!
