Death of a Sling

Low angle slab to a short 5.6 move, followed by a couple of short 5.7 moves, to more run out (but easy) slab. Belay from partially living tree.

100 feet right of the start to 'Suicide Slab' are some lower angle patina slabs. Start to the right of these slabs, and scramble up 40 feet to find a couple of small piece of gear. Move around a corner and up the "crux" to the higher slab. Aim for the tree that can be seen below some steeper sections above it.

Small gear to start (purple and blue metolius) protects the first 5.6 move. Place a BD #2 or #3, then a #1 and continue up to the upper slab. No protecion on the upper slab, but very easy to the tree. Optional #3 to back up the tree belay.
