Jangala

Jangala is Sanskrit for a uncultivated land or better known in NorAZ by its connotation as a dense tangled-thicket. Channel your inner Mowgli when tying in for a lead on Jangala...

Jangala climbs an attractive green and orange buttress down canyon from the Jungle Wall. First spied from the White Wall.

While the climbing is creative and tricky at times, the first 25% is a little loose, insecure, unprotected and slightly "unkept".

Start on a short but unprotected boulder problem to a dirty mantle, climb through unprotected but easy climbing to a stance on a ledge. Plug some small cams, toss on a mega-runner and begin a balancey foot traverse into and under the main seam. Climb into a boulder problem on orange rock to a good stance and get some good gear. Climb up through easier crack climbing to the point where the crack stops and holds appear. Move right towards the green arete, plug some small cams in a splitter seam and complete the final boulder problem. Choose your exit wisely. A beautiful, exciting, unique Forks route that would make Rikki-Tikki-Tavi proud!

Jangala climbs a lone buttress in "no-mans land" past the Jungle Wall almost directly across from the White Wall. Look for a nice overview of the White Wall near some large pines.

Although scarce at times most of the gear throughout the route is in good rock.
