Lycra Eater

FA Drew Bedford, Conrad Anker, 1987
CREATED
UPDATED

Description

I’m guessing Mr. B ripped one of his favorite pairs during the FA.

Lycra Eater

jams the obvious left leaning hand crack, which pinches off at a bulge protecting entrance to the finishing dihedral. Continue up the dihedral (ignoring the tan-colored anchors on the right wall) to a set of dark-brown colored ring anchors maybe 25 feet higher.

Location

From the large parking area just east of the Gully of Higher Education (with the tree that can be driven around), walk up the steep scree slope on its northwestern end for 200 feet to a large flat area and the “cave.”

Lycra Eater

is the cleaner looking crack to the right of the “cave.”

Protection

Nuts, single set of cams through fingers, and a double set of thin- to wide-hand cams (up to a No. 3 Camalot should do it).
