Monkey and the Engineer

Description

This is a sport climbing route with a series of steep bulges with a few harder moves on each one of them. There is easier climbing in between.

Location

The route is to the left where the trail first joins the cliff. Look for two pine trees on a ledge above a right-facing corner. The route is just right of the corner and goes along the right edge of a large, orange rock scar on the face from a dearly departed flake. The route lines in the recent "The Voo" guide are not quite correct.

: this is the first bolted line that starts about 10 feet right of the obvious, right-facing dihedral. It passes through the massive scaled-flake scar and trends right at the top for an easy finish to the huge ledge anchor.

Protection

10 bolts, double bolt belay anchor. Beware of loose rock on the rappel ledge, and 3 very large loose blocks precariously perched on top of each on the east end of the rappel ledge.
