This is the namesake of the crag for those who have the Rossiter guide, which refers to the entire crag as Inca Stone.This route is difficult and devious, the holds are small and some are sharp- the feet sloping in places. Darn hard in humid conditions (or a drizzle)! In fact, darn hard when dry.

Locate the large juniper on a ledge toward the lefthand side of the crag- this impressive tree lies just below the high point of the wall, a peaking tower. Approach from the West (left) to gain the ledge and traverse to just right of the tree, below a black bolt hanger. Climb up and then up and right, passing  bolts along the way.  Some of the holds are small and pinchy, or off angle and very hard to hold.  Big moves and reaches.  The top half of the route is juggy and much easier.  Wear nice tight shoes- you're going to need some precision.

This route shares starts with 3 routes. Climbs to the first 3 bolts of "

Inca Stone

" and then cut left to the blunt arete, crux is around 6th bolt, but the route is nice and sustained the whole way. A great friction route, on nice, surprisingly clean rock. 2 bolt anchor for lower-off.

Follow a dirty, right-leaning crack up to the top. It was still very dirty.

At the far right side of the crag sits a short 2 bolt (rolofson guide says 3, but we spotted the bolt hole for the first bolt, and it has been removed, or never put in) route. Stick clip the 1st bolt, or clip it from the end of the rock wall, then start the route from the ground up (for the grade) past the 2 bolts to the anchor. If this route were cleaned a little more it would be a 2 star, but only 1 due to dirty condition. A nice wind down to the day, or a good route before doing the longer routes on the crag.

Perhaps this is "The Altar"? But it's spelled "Alter" in both Rossiter and Rolofson. This is a steep climb at the left edge of the main/right wall.  It's hard right off the ground, with a long reach to fingertip holds and bad feet. Clipping the second bolt is difficult, and you don't want to blow it, since you'd likely hit the ground. Moving past the second bolt is harder then it looks. After that is a total rest if you don't mind stepping up and left. Lean right, clip the 3rd bolt and commit to intimidating but easier moves up the steep upper wall using cracks and sidepulls. The flaw of this route is the fact that you can step left between the 2nd and 3rd bolts to a no-hands rest. It felt like cheating to me, but I had no choice.

Start under an obvious little roof up a thin seam, get a piece of gear (or 2) in an obvious section 8 feet below the roof (Metolius blue, yellow). Make sure this gear is good, and then step your feet up to get under the roof, from here you could continue straight up (with a superb kneebar under the roof), or head out to the right to follow the left-leaning corner to the top. The route is short but is a nice little route, could be cleaned more under the roof, this would make the moves close to the roof a little better.

This is a stiff route for 5.10, but it could be 'R' rated if you don't have small gear. Climb the small seam below the old bolt to the left of "

The Treadmill

", clip the bolt, and continue to the ledge and next bolt to the top. You could use the anchors atop '

Warm Up

' if you set a directional, otherwise build an anchor above this route. This route (and others at this crag) could use a little more cleaning, which would make it more enjoyable, but it is a decent short line.

This climb is kind of fun, and you might as well do it if you are at this little cliff.  The crux is about halfway up when you leave the only jug hold on the route.  Above are lots of sidepulls and really small foot holds.  You only place about 4 pieces of protection on the route.  Three are in the hard climbing.  I placed a fourth to guide the rope to my anchor.  You use flared cracks to the right as lieback holds.  The crack you are ascending does not offer much in the way of holds.

This route is fairly far left on the small crag.  Go to the left side of the wall, just to the left of a large juniper tree that aligns below the wall's high point. Walk left perhaps 3 meters from there to find a series of jugs, steps, and sidepulls up a buttress to reach a crack system.

Elegant Peasant

.' Climb up the buttress (yawn) and to the crack to place gear and climb (6 meters of real climbing to come). Most of the moves are 5.9 to 5.10a, with a few that are harder near the top.  At the top, there is the shared anchor with links for rapping down as per

.  This has lots of sidepulls.

Perhaps this is best described as a boulder problem that will take gear, rather than a trad route. This 5 meter stretch of rock does not offer enough moves to justify tying in. As soon as you are out of groundfall range, you are done. Perhaps the merit in roping off is in lowering off of the anchor above and right, as for the 'unnamed' sport route a meter or two to the East.

This route starts directly in front of a large dead tree at the beginning of the rock wall below the crag. There are 2 starts, either pull to and clip the first bolt (extended draw) of "

Sacrifical Virgin

" or climb unprotected about 10 feet left of this bolt. Once at this point, continue around the corner, into an obvious, left-facing dihedral to the top. The gear is good, just keep looking for it.

This route is on the very short right-hand side of the crag, and is only about 15 feet tall.  By its height, this is more of a boulder problem than a route, but I wouldn't want to fall and land on the big rock 3' behind it.  Climb up and right on scaley rock, up the left side of a series of two stalagmite-looking pillars to the anchors for the route "Unnamed."

Ho-hum.

When you get to the crag, you will see a couple routes to the left of the main crag. This is the obvious bolted line on this face with black painted Fixe(?) hangers, 5 in total. Climb the line of bolts to the third and then stay left to reach the anchors, staying to the right closer to the arete will indeed make the grade easier. From here, you can toprope "

The Treadmill

" and "

Left Side

" (clip second bolt for left side). This route is deceivingly harder than it appears on first sight but enjoyable.
