Peak Mountain 3

Upper Falls Wall

Description

[Edit]

This is the first major wall you'll come to while hiking in from Shenandoah. It's a west facing cliff ~80ft high at the base of the overlook for the upper falls. Be warned: the northern section of the wall (closest to the falls,) is at the base of a prominent overlook, so tourons may occasionally drop rocks or other debris from above. Your anchor may also be accessible to hikers. The further south (downstream,) you go along the wall, the less accessible the top is to hikers.

Really high quality rock for the most part, though there are several large blocks that should be trundled. All trad or TR, and easy to set anchors on the trees at the top of the wall.
