Starkist

Description

An excellent and difficult stemming/pressing problem up a right-facing, 90-degree corner. Somewhat relentless with a definite crux at mid-height, you’ll find lots of stances, but upwards progress is not so easy.

Location

Two side-by-side climbs share an anchor (visible from the ground on an overhanging panel of rim rock) and stand alone from the other climbs in the area: Octane 96 and Starkist. Starkist is the righthand of the two. These routes start atop one of several large boulders at the base of the wall. These large boulders are an obvious landmark.

Protection

9x bolts to lower-offs.
