Description
The Perch Highline is approximately 80 feet long and 50 feet off the ground. About 65 feet are walkable if you want to avoid no-fall terrain. Over 100 feet of webbing is recommended for rigging. The views from the line are great, but hauling gear up to The Perch is hard work, and there are more accessible highlines on the base.
Location
The highline stretches across a gully between The Perch and a rock formation to the north.
There is a bolted anchor on the rock formation at GPS coordinates 38.99557, -104.90971. You can get to the bolts by hiking up the gully and scrambling up the rocks on the right. The second anchor point is a tree directly across from the bolted anchor. The tree anchor should be placed about 10 feet up the tree to create a level line. A picture shows both anchor points.
Tensioning from the bolted anchor is easiest, since the tree is on the side of the steep gully.
Protection
3 bolts with quicklinks and a tree.
