Sherm's Crack

This crack lies on a small buttress to the east of the Omega buttress approach gully and makes a great add on to the longer death canyon routes. Great finger locks down low lead to a short crux pulling the roof followed by more excellent jamming higher.

From Phelps Lake head up Death Canyon to where the trail cuts back east. When the trail cuts back to the west again continue east crossing a talus field and some trees/shrubs until you com into a clearing below an obvious water course/couloir. You will be able to see the NPS trail below you. Continue upwards towards the couloir for 150ft. The route is on the climbers right at the mouth of the couloir. Approx 1hr from DC TH.
