Description

Whales Tale is a steep overhanging flake which strikes a feeling of fear in anyone who gazes upon its underbelly.

Approach via any number of routes. Finger of God, Fallen Angel, Botanical Gardens  or Laying on the Hands. Build a belay near a small ramp which leads up to the final pitch.

The final pitch climbs like a cruel joke envoking sounds of whimpering from those who attempt to climb it. Get comfortable in the belay and don't worry about slack, they have a long way until they can hit anything on this wildly exposed beast.

Location

High on the right facing wall above Fallen Angel. This pitch is easily spotted from the ground as being a wide undercling flake in an overhanging wall with a few fixed draws dangling from its precipice.

Protection

Cams to 5"
